On August 10th, National Lazy Day gives us permission to relax and kickback. So, we’re going to be a bit lazy here.
As you can see, there is not much information regarding this annually celebrated holiday as we do not feel like doing any research. Actually, we do not feel like doing anything at all. Consequently, we are in our hammocks with a couple of good books and glasses of lemonade and iced tea. Yes, it is a Lazy Day. We choose to be lazy rather than tell much more about this day.
You can’t teach people to be lazy – they either have it, or they don’t.

HOW TO OBSERVE #NationalLazyDay
Take this test to prepare yourself for the day. Lazy people fact #72432143726413424. If you were too lazy to read that number, you’re ready to celebrate this day.
Indulge yourself with a great book. Here are some of my favorites. Post you favorite activities on #NationalLazyDay to social media.
Once upon a time, a real group called the Secret Society of Happy People decided to dedicate a day to the pursuit of happiness. Members of the society wanted to let happy feelings linger inside them every day. In 2000, the Secret Society of Happy People expanded the celebration to Happiness Happens Month in August.
Happiness is a choice. Remembering happiness does not mean you are problem free. That kind of life doesn’t exist. As the Stoics of Ancient Greece observed, happiness is all about the quality of your thoughts. Happiness is not a destination, but rather a life-long pursuit. Joy can be anywhere at any time. Don’t limit yourself to searching for pleasure. Enjoy everything and anything that makes you happy. Oprah Winfrey said it wasn’t until she learned to be happy that good things started happening to her.
If you struggle with finding happiness, you can learn to be happy. There is plenty of helpful advice available to guide you in the right direction. Reading self-help material is an excellent place to start. Here are a few published works you might want to read to help you in your pursuit of happiness:
Most of the best “how to be happy” books and videos boil down to variations of the Ancient Greek philosophy of stoicism (not to be confused with the modern use of the word). The essence of stoicism is this: no matter what is wrong with the world in general, and your life in particular, you can choose to be happy if you learn how.
“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any set of circumstances, to choose one’s way.” -Viktor Frankl
HISTORY The Secret Society of Happy People started celebrating happiness with “Admit You’re Happy Day,” on August 8, 1999.

During April, buds come into full bloom brightening our days, and the National Month of Hope also lends a hand in lifting our spirits.
Bringing hope to someone can take many forms. Being a positive role model in a child’s life or providing a community a foundation for future endeavors both provide hope for the future. Lift the spirits of a friend suffering from a medical issue or volunteer at a local homeless shelter. We are each able to bring a ray of hope in our own ways by contributing wisdom, time, kindness, and when possible, donating to charities that make the impossible possible.
NATIONAL MONTH OF HOPE HISTORY
Mothers In Crisis, Inc. founded National Month of Hope to help spread hope around the world. Founded by Rosalind Tompkins in 1991 when she was just four years clean and sober, Mothers In Crisis, Inc. supports women and families who are in need bringing them hope and empowering them to find a new path.
On Mothers In Crisis’s 25th Anniversary in April of 2016, they received proclamations from the City of Tallahassee and the Board of County Commissioners acknowledging the significant contributions Mothers In Crisis has made in their region and also declaring Friday as Hope Universe Day.
National I Want You to be Happy Day on March 3rd encourages us to do something that makes others happy. It also asks us to see others’ happiness from their point of view. Putting a smile on someone’s face tends to put one on ours, too.
Genuine happiness takes effort. While we’re not individually responsible for other’s happiness, we do play a role in spreading joy and good cheer. One way to do that is to see happiness from another person’s perspective. Happiness doesn’t fit a mold. Everything from being a morning person or a night owl, a favorite season and seafood can make or break a person’s general idea of happiness. A person’s overall journey through life gives them a unique outlook on happiness, too.
Being happy may merely be about quality, not quantity.
HOW TO OBSERVE #IWantYouToBeHappyDay
National I Want You to Be Happy Day is quite limitless. Give a flower here. Tell a silly knock-knock joke there. Buy the person’s coffee standing in line behind you. Remind your kids how much you love them. Leave a sticky note for a co-worker telling them to have a spectacular day, a happy day. Draw a happy face in the snow for a stranger to come across later. Give someone a hug.
But no matter what, consider someone else’s happiness from their point of view.

On National Comfy Day, February 20th, allow yourself to get comfortable and relax! It’s time to get cozy in your favorite place and take a break from the daily grind.
The word “comfy,” which is short for “comfortable,” is used to describe places and activities that put us at peace. Ultimately, what binds us all is the need to be at ease. Some people are pulled to a certain blanket. Some people think of a relaxing vacation. Our furry friends or a special hoodie can also contribute to our sense of well-being. The level of comfort rises even further when you add in some relaxing music and delivery of food.
The goal of National Comfy Day is to help people find their ideal level of comfort and to revel in it!
“The Comfy Bros” founded National Comfy Day to be celebrated on February 20th, the day The Comfy was invented! Their story starts back in 2017 when Michael and Brian Speciale transformed the way the world stays warm by inventing the world’s first true wearable blanket. Just a month after forming their company, The ‘Comfy Bros’ were invited to make their pitch on ABC’s Shark Tank. With only a prototype in hand, they closed a deal with Barbara Corcoran, and The Comfy went on to become the third most successful product ever to launch on Shark Tank.
Today, The Comfy has expanded to a range of products designed to wrap everyone in a giant, warm hug. The Comfy Bros remain true in their mission to bring happiness to all and give back through their Comfy Cares program. The Comfy is available in over 100 countries, has made millions of customers happy, has over 30,000 5-star reviews, and has press coverage ranging from Good Morning America to USA Today to the Today Show!
