February isn’t the only romantic month on the calendar. Check your relationship’s pulse during Romance Awareness in August. If it needs a jump start, there are lots of ways to put some spark back into the relationship.
Add excitement by planning the unexpected. Surprise your significant other with a date night with only a few clues as to the destination. None of it needs to be expensive or elaborate, but making an effort to make the evening fun, spontaneous and memorable will be worthwhile. Maybe it’s a note clipped to a single flower saying you’ll pick her up at 7 PM and to wear sandals. It ends up with a picnic on the beach; or it could be a text to him that you’re in the mood for takeout, be ready in an hour – a three-hour road trip later and you’re at the nearest drive-in theater eating hot wings under the stars.
The simple things mean so much more than elaborate gifts. A wrapped mint slipped into a pocket with an encouraging message on the day of big presentation sends waves of support and love when it’s needed most. Sharing our successes with those we love is another way of enhancing the romance. Toast each other’s success and bask in the glow.
Spend quiet time with each other. Read books, do chores, sleep. Just be. Sometimes, just being together in the same room generates energy that may have been missing.
Cultivate activities as a couple you enjoy doing together. Whether you enjoy games, biking, sports, antiquing, travel, music or haven’t discovered your interest yet, get out there and explore.

Being aware of and adding more romance into your relationship will be a win-win for both you and your significant other. Passion has always been an essential part of relationships. Sometimes it is the little things that make a big difference, such as; holding hands, a shoulder rub, a flower, making dinner together, playing your favorite song, leaving a personal note, or watching a movie together.

February is a month of love and romance. So it’s no surprise it is also designated as National Creative Romance Month.
Psychologists tell us dating is vital to a relationship. A date is not something to be tolerated or suffered through. Instead, dating should be fun and pleasurable for both parties. Psychologists also stress the importance of trying new and different things to boost relationships to become more romantic and fun.
A surprise getaway is a great way to get your partner excited about some alone time. Keep them guessing by making the surprise destination into a game. For example, cut up a brochure and have your partner assemble it like a jigsaw puzzle! You might even consider blindfolding your partner and then driving them to your destination as a surprise. A blindfold may not be feasible depending on how long it takes to arrive at your surprise, of course.
Movie nights are also a great way to bring some romance back into your relationship. Plan a night out at the movies. Make it extra special by finding a drive-in movie theater near you. Make the drive-in movie extra special by renting a classic car. Afterward, you might spend a little time stargazing together.
Planning a date during the day can also be special. Start by visiting your partner’s favorite museum or art gallery. Then, continue the date with a picnic in the park by filling a picnic basket with some of your partner’s favorite wines, cheeses, and fruits. Picnics are so much fun that July is designated as National Picnic Month. Plan your spread in front of a cozy fire for a winter picnic.

Good tv can be hard to find. While a lot of shows air everyday from soap operas, sitcoms, documentaries, dramas, fantasy, Sci-fi, and everything in between, sadly only some make some of us come back for more.
We got rid of paid tv years ago… Why pay for hundreds of channels with absolutely nothing worth really watching. Today we have streaming and antena tv. Most shows I catch on the go, like so many today on my phone.
So without further ado here are some of my favorite bingable shows definitely worth both the watch and a good binge watch. ( It’s cold outside after all…)
This historical fantasy centers on the romance and adventures of a trip back in time. Imagine going from the 1940’s to 1743. Could you adapt?
Imagine not only being transported through time, only to land in Scotland, but a woman from 1943. Where men still use swords, and horses are the main form of travel. In a time period when simply surviving another season is something that still requires a lot of hard work. No electricity, running water, personal hygiene, and daily survival was still a real concern.
