We grew up with the privilege of learning to use the record player was something you earned.  Our favorite was when I was old enough to put on Christmas records.  My favorites included “Snoopy and the Red Baron”, Boston Pops “Sleigh Ride”, and Sinatra singing “Mele Kalikimaka”.

My Dad was so proud of both his player and all the records he had collected over the years.  He diligently taught me proper handling, cleaning, and care of the vinyl it self and how to play them without scratching them. TV we could make do without but not the record player.  It probably sounds funny in today’s digital age but vinyl still has a warmth in its tone that digital cannot capture…
