Greek Gyros Meat

1lb ground lamb
1 lb ground beef
3 Tbsp minced garlic
1 Tbsp Onion powder
1 1/2 tsp Marjoram
1 tsp Rosemary
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 325°
  2. Add beef, lamb, onion powder, garlic, marjoram, rosemary, salt and pepper to food processor.
  3. Process for 1 – 2 minutes until thick paste forms.
  4. Smooth mixture onto lined baking sheet with edges.  About 1 – 2 inches thick.
  5. Press firmly into rectangle shape.
  6. Make sure to pack firmly together.  (A loaf pan can also be used just make sure it’s filled only a couple inches high.)
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, taking care not to over bake it.  Drain any grease from pan, if using loaf pan, about halfway through bake time.
  8. Let stand and cool at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Jennifer lives happily in North Florida with her husband Scott and after a stroke and two brain surgeries her mom. While not blessed with children they dote on their four legged children four cats. I started writing after spinal surgery required second round of physical therapy to learn to walk yet again. While reading is a favorite hobby writing is something new with the launch of this blog and hopefully a fiction novel in the future.
